Spring is here!

Spring's here in London - well, quite a few may argue that SUMMER is here, with the daytime temperatures we're enjoying. Still chilly when the sun's down though. Managed to snap this little birdy before it flew off. I'm not a bird-watcher myself (birds of a different kind, maybe), so I have no idea what species it is. Maybe some kind soul would care to identify it.

great composition, considering that it's not easy to capture a bird. would be great if the background is of different colour to add more contrast between the bird and the background.

Nice. I like the fact that the bird looks like its posing for you.

hey guys.. thanks for the nice comments... it was really a spur of the moment snap... luckily the bird was still there in the time i spent taking out my camera bag, taking out the camera, changing the lens, and going outside.. and luckily it was relatively "tame" and didnt fly off as most birds do... so therefore didnt have time to compose properly, especially with regards to the background... so i did the next best thing of shooting at the max telephoto range of my lens (200m on a DSLR) at widest aperture of f/2.8.. this managed to blur the background sufficiently to make the subject stand out
